AIMS
The Safe Use of Portable Power Tools, Generators,
Compressors & Lawnmowers integrates Health & Safety into safe working practices with the aim to -
Ø Reduce injury,
Ø Make the workplace a safer place
Ø Improve the quality of workmanship,
Ø Reduce costs, which includes compensation
payments and insurance premiums for industry.
The course is generic to all makes of power tools generators compressors and lawnmowers, used throughout industry and the public sector. The course will also underpin any NVQ and apprentice training, which involves the Safe Use of portable petrol driven power tools, generators, compressors and
lawnmowers.
Objectives
Ø To develop the skills and knowledge needed to
operate identified portable power tools, generators,
compressors and lawnmowers.
Ø To gain a fundamental understanding of current Health and Safety regulations and legislation that
encompasses the use of portable power tools, generators compressors, and lawnmowers.
Ø To work safely at all times.
