Ø Duties of an employee and the employer
Ø Identification and selection of appropriate PPE
Ø The correct use, inspection & maintenance of PPE.

5. Safe operation of hand operated power tools
Ø Pre and post use checks, inspections and
testing of identified portable power tools,
compressors, generators and lawnmowers.

006 - 045 Selected power tool practical assessment
Ø Assessment of the students' practical
application to safe working methods and operation of designated portable power tools,
compressors generators and lawnmowers.

NOTE-
Ø Elements 1 to 5 are mandatory;
Ø Elements 006 - 045 cover::

  • Gas
Operated Power Tools
The course can cover the use of up to three nominated power tools on day one (subject to the type of power tool). Where
additional tools are nominated the course would be extended
accordingly.
